I have bought an IPAD from china. Total cost of the item including shipping is Rs 8134. The item is detained by customs and send a letter asking some documents. All the necessary papers required by them is couriered by me. Today i have received a call asking to send customs penalty payment of Rs 1000 as Demand draft in favour of commissioner of customs. Moreover they have informed me that post receipt of the DD, item will be released and i have to pay Rs 2750 as customs duty.

Please let me now why i was charged penalty? I have not given any wrong information to customs and not imported any prohibited item.

Why for an item worth Rs 8134 inclusive of shipping charges is charged heavy customs duty. As far as i know there is no customs duty for IPAD instead only 10% CVD and other cess in total falls between 14-16% of the total cost

Please help. Where to complaint this?

my query is regarding 4% SAD refund.
one of the condition for claiming SAD refund is that sales tax must be paid on subsequent sale of goods in india.
whether we can claim sad refund on goods which are exempt from sales tax????

Hi,

We are the manufacturer-exporter. We have 2 different plants in the same Range/Div. of excise. Second plant is under construction. We received Excise Registration Certificate, SSI Cert.RCMC etc.for new plant and new plant address is also incorporated in our IEC.

Our current import shipment's documents (invoice, BL etc.)is on the address of old plant, but we want to clear these shipments under new plant adress.

Can we do this & how?

we have advance license for procured duty free inputs for exports of cell phone A. but the cell phone model been changed by the customer, hence they asked to export of Cell phone B.input material are same only.

1.Is there is any option to export of cell phone B without surrender existing license.
