Dear Sirs,
As per the latest rules a company that has less than 20 employees are exempt from deducting and remitting Provident Fund.

My query is when this company increases its strength to more than 20 employees after a period of 4 years, will the liability to pay PF be with restrospective effect (from the beginning) or prospective effect (from the date of increase in strength).

One of my friend is working in private limited company. Company has policy to pay bonus on diwali. For cost cutting company is forcing to give voluntary resignation. Company is telling that person who is on payroll on diwali will be eligible to get bonus.

Is my friend is eligible to get bonus proportionately for the time he has worked with the company as per bonus act?

the problem is that i m not able to concentrate for more than 1 1/2 hrs. at one sitting and after that i take rest for same period i.e. 1 1/2 hrs.
bze of which i think i wouldn't be able to copmplete the syllabus in a given period of time.

I encountered a very strange situation...
I took data for daily return of infosys and S&P CNX NIFTY for 240 trading days from august 2008 to july 2009 and i regressed them...
so i found beta=0.659 and alpha=0.101
(with r-square = 42.8%)
so annualized alpha = 240*0.101 = 24.24
now dis is huge... with beta less than 1..
implying Infosys was a wonderful stock during this period.. but we all know the state of Indian IT industry during this period and Infosys was not among the list of top stocks for most fund managers.... so how is such a high value of alpha possible... what is it indicating exactly...???

We are purchasing some RM from Turkey Based firm. We are willing to issue an LC. The party wants the LC to be confirmed by the Bank i.e. wants an Confirmed LC.

Please guide me on the charges that would be levied for a confirmed LC by the Bank as a percentage of the LC value.

one of our client has not deducted tds on freight and the amount of bill is Rs.40000/- and the client has debited the amount of freight to plant and machinery a/c.

i knw that there is liability to deduct tds, what i wnt to knw that what is the penalty for non deduction of tax in this case?
