11 December 2012 Whether TDS is applicable on Participation fees payable to an organisation which conducts the Conference program open to all.

11 December 2012 It amounts to "contract" and as such the TDS is required to be deducted subject to however the limits set out in section 194C.

11 December 2012 But the conference program is open to all and in my opinion there is no contract for conducting the program. And it is just a participation fees.....

11 December 2012 You mean to say some thing like booking a ticket of a CINEMA? In that case, as you have rightly said, NO TDS be done.
