Hi, I have a query regarding taxation. I am an India resident right now and moving to Singapore for employment in Jan'17. My India salary would stop effective Dec'16 and I would get salary from Singapore employer effective Jan'17. During the financial year, I would have Jan - Mar'17 period where I would be indian resident as per tax rules but would be getting salary from Singapore employer. My query is whether that salary be taxable in India? I went through DTAA between Singapore and India but not clear whether it provides exemption for employment income. Please provide your opinion.

As you are an Indian resident during the financial year, your Singapore salary will be taxable in India. Relief can be claimed for any TDS made in Singapore.
