A taxpayer faced an issue in ITR-2 where the system continued asking for a refund bank account despite one already being nominated. The solution was to ensure the account is validated and EVC-enabled in the profile and, if needed, start a fresh ITR draft.

To fix the recurring bank nomination error in ITR 2, ensure your chosen account is marked as "Validated and EVC enabled" under the "My Bank Accounts" section of your profile. If the status is correct but the error persists, delete your current ITR draft and start a fresh return to allow the form to refresh and pull your updated profile data.

Login to your bank account through net banking. From there click on the e-filing income tax link. Accept the account for refund. The problem will be resolved.

Sir Good Morning! Did try through net banking as advised. Selected one bank account but still the Bank Details under General Schedule asks for nominating one bank account. Kindly advise.

1.Select another account, this one may not be eligible. 2. Or Select all the account first validate the ITR, then close the TAB for the bank account not required to be nominated.

Sir, There are only two accounts and so were there last year also. NRO account is nominated and the other account is NRE which is validated but not nominated. NRE account is as such not eligible for credit of refund. Kindly Advise. Kindly Regards

Ensure your NRO account is linked to your PAN and pre-validated on the e-filing portal. The mobile number registered with your bank and the tax portal must match. If so, file complaint under Grievances.
