There is a Transport Contractor providing transport services to the client. He is eligible for Tax Audit but have not registered for Service Tax because service tax is directly paid by its client on his behalf. Whether this is permissible? or Transport Contractor should register for Service tax?

The GTA need not register as long as his customers are all as specified. That has tobe vierfied.
