What is the late fee applicable to file st3 from 14 Nov to tll date. Whether it is 100 per day or 50 per day?

Please clarify.

01 December 2014 As per rule 7C of service tax rules 1994, penalty will be levied in case of delay in submitting Service Tax Return in accordance with rule 7, are as under
Upto 15 days Rs. 500
Upto 30 days Rs. 1000
Beyond 30 days Rs. 1000+100 per day

Subject to maximum of Rs. 20,000

02 December 2014 Yes. penalty is payable for belated filing of return.. since there is no service tax liability; question of interest does not arise.

02 December 2014 Penalty for delay in filling of Service Tax Return under rule 7, will levied in all cases irrespective of service tax liability.

However, in case of NIL liability, Commissioner of Central Excise can condone the penalty if there is is sufficient reason(s) for delay
