Input vat on cement purchases by a poles manufacturer

Please help me out in the above subject that whether a Poles Manufacturer Company can claim Input Vat on Cement Purchase or not ?

17 November 2011 Yes you can claim credit of the same subject to the vat is charged by the person having TIN Number and final product produced by you is also chargeable to VAt.

18 November 2011 But as per latest Amendment, Vat Rates on poles is reduce to 5%. Can 14.5%Input Vat can be claim? Please answer my query.

18 November 2011 There is no notification on this but it is in the act only where it is clarified that credit can be claimed against same rate only.
