GST on shortage

This query is : Resolved

Quick Summary
When you receive less material than invoiced, and have already claimed full Input Tax Credit (ITC), you cannot issue a GST-compliant debit note for the shortage. Instead, you should request your supplier to issue a credit note with GST. A non-GST debit note can be used for accounting purposes, but it won't allow you to charge GST on the shortfall.
