Explain the procedure for claiming refund of an unconsumed/excess TDS challan through the TRACES portal In detail.

Excess/unconsumed TDS challan refund can be claimed online through the TRACES portal by selecting the refundable challan, entering refund and bank details, and verifying through DSC/EVC. Refund is processed after verification of challan balance, defaults, and bank validation, subject to no outstanding TDS demand.
