Dear
Pl help on below situation:-
One of mine friend had a contract with US company to work form India and Co will pay in US currency.
At present his resedetial status is NRI.
Should amount paid by US co. is alos taxable in US also.

Hi ashish ,
Though your friend is an NRI , he is working from india right ( mean services are being rendered from india ) ... so obviously its deemed to accrue or arise in india and hence taxable in india ... residential status of the individual is not important in this case ...

I believe your question is whether the said income is taxable in US or not. Assuming his tax status in US is resident (given that his Indian tax status is Non-resident), he shall have to include whole of his Income in his US tax return.
