Taxability of income

Please suggest whether a person is taxable in India for A.Y. 2016-17 if he left India in July, 2015 for the purpose of employment and shifted to Dubai. (Before that he was resident in India for all the previous A.Y.s)
I think he is not be liable to pay tax in india for A.Y. 2016-17 as he is not a resident u/s 6(1) after taking into consideration an exception to condition (b)......Please correct me if i am worng............
