08 May 2009 Kindly let me know that how can we surrender service tax number & what the process for the same.

11 May 2009 Assuming that there is no liability the same can be surrendered.

First file a return upto date. Along with the return send the duly attested copy of the ST certificate seeking cancellation and provding your address for queries and reason why you are surrendering. Send by RPAD.
IF the dept correspondend in wiritng respond otherwsie deemed to be cancelled.
