Service tax on usage charges on Generator

24 June 2009 Dear sir,
We are charging Rs.17000/- rent of generator to a commercial tenant with service tax.
Apart from this as per agreement Rs.10/- to be charged to party against usage charges of Generator as per Meter reading of Generator.
Is service tax applicable on useage charges also.
Please guide.

25 June 2009 In my understanding generation and provision of electricity is not a taxable service and therefore there should be no service tax.
