Sir,
I want know that shall we charges Service Tax on Play ground given for rent to a School.
The School management is telling that All Educational Institutions are exempted form service tax rules in case of renting of immovable property. It is Correct?

Not correct, service tax payable on renting of immovable property to educational institutions from 01/10/2014.

Yes, I am sure. This services are exempt from service tax vide mega exemption notification no. 25/2012-ST dated 20.06.2012 under sub clause 9(b) of this notification.

See the budget 2014 amendment effective from 01/10/2014. Service tax on educational institutions modifications. The exemption has been withdrawn.
