16 June 2013 as per income tax notification if exempt income exceed Rs. 5000/- u/s 10,10a etc. can not filed ITR1 . My question is, my one of the client received conveyance allowances for F.Y. 2012-13 Rs.9600/- , which is exempted u/s 10 , so i file a return in which ITR, ITR1 or ITR2

16 June 2013 No. Salaried person can file ITR-1. Conveyance allowance comes under salary income and exempted from u/s.10(14) and ITR-1 also has provision for giving exemption u/s.10

16 June 2013 CMA Ramesh Krishnan is right, if exempted income u/s 10 exceeds Rs 5000, ITR 2 is to be filled.
And conveyance allowance is exempted u/s 10(14)
