Rajasthan vat:- password issue, client shifts from old ca

23 April 2015 PROFESSIONAL FRIENDS,
GREETING OF THE DAY.
ITS A SERIOUS CONCERN FOR ALL THE MEMBERS OF ICAI BASICALLY IN THE JAIPUR. ( PLEASE NOT A TAKE AS A HARSH COMMENT ON IT)
MY ISSUE IS THAT ONE OF OUR CLIENT WANTS TO FILLED HIS RETURN FROM US BUT ISSUE IS THAT OLD CA DOES NOT PROVIDE HIS USER ID AND PASSWORD TO CLIENT AND ALL THE CONTACT DETAILS IS ALSO PROVIDED BY THE OLD CA IS HIS PERSONAL DETAILS. PLEASE HELP ME OUT HOW WE CAN DEAL WITH THIS ISSUE. EVEN CLIENT ALSO RAISED HIS WRITEN LETTER BUT OLD CA DOES NOT PROVIDES INFORMATION.
THESE TYPE OF CA NOT DEAL IN PROFESSIONAL MANNERS SINCE WHEN CLIENT DOES NOT WANT TO WITH YOU THEN WHY YOU FORCED HIM TO STAYED WITH HIM??
PLEASE NOT TAKE THIS MESSAGE AS PERSONAL COMMENT.
PLEASE HELP ME HOW WE RESET PASSWORD ON RAJTAX.GOV.IN SITE.

You are very correct. The same thing is also coming across many a times in my practice also as I am also practicing in Rajasthan VAt in Kota, previously I was in Jaipur only.
On rajtax site there is a link given "ask me" where you may request for password reset with TIN, RC effective date and PAN of the dealer. But the problem is that a few days back they were providing a temporary password within a day to reset the password but nowadays they have changed the method by insisting on "forget password" option in which we have to enter lot of details and than too password is sent to registered mail ID. But you may give at least a try to the method shown above. If it works than its okay otherwise you may have to contact the old CA personally or may have to write to the Institute.
