please tell me.....,if house is purchased in joint name of husband & wife then then the option of deduction of interest on loan taken for purchasing house would be available to both or is there any specific criteria for deduction......???

If both are paying instalment, both are eligible for deduction.

and....if house is in the name of wife but loan installment is paid by husband then income and loan expense would be of husband or wife.....???

As per rules owner of the house property only can claim. so house is in your wife name then your wife eligible for claim

so..., it doesn't matter whether house is purchased by husband or wife...
as per income tax only the ownership of the house decides the assessee.....???

As per section 22 House property income attract the owner of the house property. so interest also allowable under sectio 24(b) for owner of house property only
