13 May 2026 Can a partnership firm become a director in a private limited company? If yes whose PAN CARD OR PHOTO ETC details are required to be upload at the time of adding details of director in GST reg. application? whether is of partnership firm or authorized representative of partnership firm?

13 May 2026 No, a partnership firm cannot become a director in a private limited company. Only a natural person can be appointed as a director under the Companies Act. A partnership firm, LLP, or another company cannot hold a directorship. A firm can only nominate a natural person to represent its interests on the board. Because the director must be an individual, you must upload the details of that specific natural person appointed as nominee.
