Our client which is a manufacturing company is doing commodity transactions through MCX such as 150 kgs SILVER(March 11), 2 lot GOLD(April-11),etc. Are such transactions future contracts? How should these transactions be accounted for in books? Is AS 30 applicable?

I am Company Secretary by Profession and i am in the Final Year of CA now. i have completed my 3 years of Articleship. i still have to undergo my 15 months training under CS. i wanted to know is there any provision in the CS Institute where i can waive off my 15 months training against 3 years of articleship. i have gained the exposure in company secretarial work during my articleship. One of my friend had applied for change in name and applied for new PAN card as she got married and her name changed. She is a Chartered Accountant. While applying for the PAN, she added "CA" as a prefix to her name in the section of application "Name as you would like to be printed o card", but her application got rejected saying that "CA" prefix will not be allowed to be printed on Card!!!!!!!

Want some clarification.

Whether NSDL is right, or if she wanted to print CA as a prefix, how should she write in the application?

I have not received the students copy of articleship confirmation letter and the students ID card issued by the institute but my principal received his copy relating to the same.i wrote a letter relating to the non issue of confirmation letter to the institute but no reply was given to me.what shall i do to get my student ID card and confirmation letter .

Two Things-

1) In case of Service Agreement who shall borne the Stamp Duty ie. who shall pay the stamp duty the agent or the principal?

2) How much stamp duty is payable on the service agreement in state of Karnataka? And is registration of agreement mandatory or how beneficial it is?


Pls note: This is a ongoing contract for 3 years, so any fix consideration is
not given in agreement, as and when the service provider(agent) raises
the bill on company (principal) , the co shall pay the bill after
deduction of the taxs as per prevailing laws.
