Now a day , I received sms and email " Original form 140 filed for the TAN " while go through I understand that it is old company details is received . let's me know what is Form 140 and How to stop this email and sms of this , I lef's this company more than 4 year back.
Please advise

08 September 2026 Because the alerts are triggered by the company's official tax profile, you cannot directly block or remove your details from the Income Tax department's backend yourself. You must request the company or the portal administrator to update the contact details.
Reach out to the HR or Finance/Accounts department of your previous company. Inform them that you are receiving automated alerts stating "Original Form 140 filed for the TAN..." because your mobile number or email ID is still listed under the "Details of Person Responsible for Deduction" in their TDS filing utility or TRACES profile. Ask their tax team to update the authorized person's contact information to the current employee in charge.
