If you've made a partial TDS payment via Form 26QB and missed the deadline for the remainder, you can settle the outstanding amount. You have two options: pay the balance plus interest directly through TRACES, or file a supplementary Form 26QB for the remaining amount and applicable interest. It's important to note that filing a fresh Form 26QB for the shortfall might lead to default notices and penalties, as demonstrated by the user's experience.

My actual TDS amount is 9695 rupees. By mistake I paid amount 9635 rupees within due date (10th Nov 2025) through FORM 26QB. I shall pay now remaining amount 60 rupees. How should I fill up FORM 26QB so that I can say, I already paid 9635 rupees?

To resolve the ₹60 short payment on Form 26QB, you do not need to alter the original filing of ₹9,635. You can either pay the ₹60 balance plus statutory interest (1.5% per month under Section 201(1A)) directly against the short payment demand on TRACES, or submit a supplementary Form 26QB for ₹60 along with the applicable interest on the e-filing portal. Both payments together will fully discharge your ₹9,695 TDS liability.

I already filed a fresh FORM 26QB for remaining 60 rupees, but ITD has sent me defaulter notice for the amount 9635 and also imposed penalty.
