Dear Sir,
Please can you let me know that if VAT is inclusive of the invoice and the invoice is of a contractor than whether TDS U/s 194c can be deducted?
And on wat amount it can be deducted ie whether amount including VAT or else excluding VAT?

DEDUCT TDS ON AMOUNT EXCLUSIVE OF VAT IF YOU ARE TAKING INPUT CREDIT FOR VAT.

If it is registered delare who sold the material,even than for safer side please deduct tds on gross bill amount

i will also suggest the same.. but if invoice include VAT it means its purchase of material and not services.. i dont think you need to deduct tds here..
