27 April 2011 Dear All,

i want to know whether we have to pay TDS on behalf of our client,

for example: we have raised an invoice for Rs.10000 and the client doesnot deduct TDS and pay us the entire amount, so do we need to deduct and pay 10% of the amount to the dept?

27 April 2011 No...You are not supposed to deduct the TDS.

By the way.. can u specify the exact nature of payment recd ?

27 April 2011 You can deposit Tds Against Client of Tan No. But don't forget to inform 2 them for the purpose of etds return.
If client is not registered for TAN. so not required to Deduct TDS.
