18 January 2011 Someone told me that as IOCL is semi govt, so we have to pay 4% service tax instead of 2.06% for govt contractor. Please let me know from when the service tax is applicable on civil contractors/ works contract ?

19 January 2011 the rate of 2.06% was applicable in period 1.6.2007 to 1.3.2008. after that it is 4.12% under works contract compostion option.
