My one of the client has been providing zerox services on contract basis to a corporate. The receipts during the year exceeded Rs. 10 lacs, He in neither registered under Gujarat VAT nor under Service Tax. Please advise, under which laws he shiold be required to get registration?

I assume you are talking of the AMC. If so he may require to register under both. One for transfer of goods and the other for provding the services [ over 10 lakhs].
He can choose to pay VAT on composition basis/ or regular scheme and service tax on valuation of goods separately or on gross amount after availing the cenvat credit on the consumables.
