Reduced rate of service tax in piecemeal services

hii, we are into education in animation, education duration is 10-12 months from the date of invoice, i would like to know, is reduced rate of service tax will be applicable on invoices raised before 24th feb-09 as the services are still in progress at various stages or in some case not even started.

YOU BILLS WILL BE BIFURCATED IN TWO PERIODS. BEFORE 24th FEB & AFTER 24th FEB WITH RELEVANT SERVICE TAX AS APPLICABLE

thnx chandrakant, as a thumb rule what you say is right, but in case provision of services over a period of time, then is there any special rule ? as the services will be provided when rate is 12.36 & also when 10.30 whereas in other cases service is provided at one shot, i hope you are getting!!

The rule is amply clear
Any service rendered from 24th onwards will stand to be charged at 10% plus the cess.
Certain services cannot be apportioned, such as consultancy.
It depends how you can justify
But since you are a provider, it makes no difference for you to collect and pay,
