05 January 2011 A contractor has received contract from Railway. Thereafter,the principal contractor give the contract to Sub-contract. please inform me the sub-contractor is liable for service tax or not.if is not liable to pay the ser.tax, please inform the section no, rule no.

06 January 2011 If railway deducting Service Tax from the bill of main contractor and submitting to Service Tax Department then no need to pay the service tax either contractor or sub-contractor, otherwise it should be paid by main contractor.
