18 December 2011 One of my client is having two pan cards.He clubs both and files IT return in one. Two Pan cards are with different surname.Both are in use. How to surrender one.Wish to follow the surname of the other PAN card in which return is not filed but income is clubbed with previous one at her fathers place. The problem has arisen due to use of two surnames one original and other religion.

18 December 2011 Identity Crisis. Never heard this before. How can you have two surnames? How can you proof your identity?

You can not have more than one PAN Card. Its illegal and attracts penalty of Rs 10000/-.

You can surrender the PAN. Go to below link.
