what is the meaning of ITNS 280..Is it for individual.if not then what is for salaried individual.

It is for all. All the entities depositing Income Tax should use only this challan.

but there is a column for TAN, which is not required for individual...after that salaried individual will fill up 280

TAN is not marked in ITNS 280, it is marked in ITNS 281.
ITNS 280 is to be used by all assessee for depositing tax, be it advance tax, self assessment tax, tax on regular demand etc.

FORM 280 IS PAN BASED FORM WHICH IS USED FOR DEPOSITING SELF ASSESSMENT TAX, ADVANCE TAX, TAX ON REGULAR DEMAND .
