My client is developing a software for a south Africa company with his employees traveled to south Africa for the contract. the billing for this contract is done by the company from India.
is service tax applicable for this kind of services.

Place of provision generally.- The place of provision of a service shall be the location of the recipient of service:
As the location of service recipient is outside taxable territory no service tax applicable for the above service.

The fee for the service rendered by the agent outside India is, outside taxable territory hence no service tax payable.
