22 February 2010 I have got my mother operated for some illness and incurred Rs.40000/- for medical and hospital expenses. I want to in which section I can claim the deduction for the amount incurred or Can I submit it as a Medical Allowance Bill as I am a salaried employee.Plz Clarify.

22 February 2010 If you have medical reimbursment you can submit for the same maximum of Rs.15000 can be claimed

But separate section.80DDB allows some specfic diseases up to Rs.40000 can be claimed.please check the diseases list and claim
