Gst on rent receipts

03 May 2018 sir one of my client is a composite dealer, from this year he will receive rents one lakh per a month, My question is gst applicable on rent receipts, his turnover for a year 25.00 lakhs. please advise me.

03 May 2018 Yes... If he is registered under GST as Composition dealer then He ll opt out from composition scheme... The rental income not applicable under Composition Scheme.

04 May 2018 sir, thanks for you reply, the dealer may continue as composite dealer or not. last year turnover below 20.00 lakhs, and rents receiving from some residential purpose and some commercial purpose. please advice me ..

04 May 2018 The dealer will have to opt out of the composition scheme as he is no longer eligible for the composition scheme as per Section 10 of the CGST Act.

04 May 2018 Thanks for you reply,, present no option to migrate regular dealer, he should continue as composite dealer, then GST applied on rent receipts or not please...

04 May 2018 I think Composition Scheme to Regular Scheme will be available any time...

From regular to Composition is not available.
