Can we take GST inputax credit on employee insurance.

Yes provided the Govt notifies the services which are obligatory for an employer to provide so eg ESI

As per Section 17(5)(iii) of the CGST Act, in general input tax credit on life insurance or health insurance is not admissible. However, when taking such insurance is obligatory for an employer to provide to its employees under any law, input tax credit is available.
