Hi,
if i gift rs. 10000 by chq to my wife, would i get tax benifit & also if it attract to gift tax?

It will not give any tax benefit and also it will not attract any gift tax liability.

Any Gift given to wife is exempt u/s 56 in the hands of wife. Also there is no way you can avail any tax benefit by making gift to your wife.
