is depreciation to be provided on asset when it is in the period of Trail run?

During the period of trial run the fixed asset is generally considered in the WIP stage and all expenses relating to trial run are capitalised. Hence the same should not be considered for deprecciation purpose.

Dep. is provided after the asset is put to use. Trial run is just the checking of whether the asset is ready for commercial use or not. so.. no dep for that period.
