Kindly clarify who is the DDO with regard to Govt. Aided Schools, either the Correspondent or the District Educational Officer

Can you Please Mr Seetharaman sir provide me the income tax rule/ circular which designates the Govt. Aided School Correspondent as the DDO, as the Director of Treasuries & Accounts and Director pf School Education of Govt. of Tamilnadu are insisting that The District Educational Officer is the DDO inspire of our argument that if the DEO is the DDO and if he files Form 24Q on behalf of the Govt. Aided School then form 16 downloaded from Traces will highlight the DEO as the employer, which is absurd

I am not aware any such rule. Aided school is the employer, they are only disbursing the salary. You can ascertain the practice prevalent from other states by raising the query in this forum.
