I have appeared for 1st Group of CA Final Nov 10 exams under old scheme.

From May 11 i have to appear for 2nd Group of CA Final New Course Since Nov 10 was last exam under old scheme.

My Question is whether do i need to apply to institute for conversion from old course to new course and if yes, What is the procedure to be followed or it will be automatic.

I have cleared cpt in june'10 attempt.My score in cpt was 105 as I had left the Quantitative portion and did not even attempt a single question of that portion.Now I'm preparing for my Ipcc exams.I have planned to appear only for group-1 exams in may'11.I still have 5 mnths left with me.Please guide me how to prepare for my Ipcc exam as I want to clear it in my first attempt only with very good marks.

I am an ipoc student and given my grp 1 this nov,.my query is that while continuing ca , i am interested in doin cs. so, which form to fill while opting for another company course.and till what time should the permission is needed.

One of my ipcc frind had secured exemption in tax grp-I & in advanc a/c grp-II in nov 09 attempt & in 2nd attmpt securd exemption in a/c grp-I & cleard IInd grp, now in nov 10 he has givn costing & law grp-I his frnds says tht he wont get benifit of exemptn of a\c grp-I clrd in may 10 as per institute rule tht exemptn of previou atmpt must be exausted.kindy answer wheter he wil get benifit of a\c grp-I in nov 10.

I am a Final(New cousre) student with an attempt in the coming May.
This is in context of AS 30, 31, 32 being made compulsorily applicable from 1st April, 2011.
As a result of this applicability, various Accountind standards(AS 2, 21, 23, 26, 27) have been subjected to limited revision.

My query is straight. Do these New standards 30, 31, 32 apply for the examination to be held in May 2011. Because otherwise, the limited revisions of AS's mentioned above would not be applicable any ways.

Btw, it's not easy to understand the practical impact of AS 30 on financials(books on AS's have little problems on these standards). Please suggest any source from where I can get a full package of conceptual practical problems in relation to the standard.

Also regarding IFRS, to what level are we supposed to be thorough with them?
