Regarding ITR filing with more value than showing in AIS/TIS

Quick Summary

19 July 2026 Sir I've filed revised ITR 4 on 02/07/26.I've showed all sb interest,FD int,MIS interest,ITD refund int in IFOS.But in AIS/TIS, post office Sb interest(22427/-) and post office MIS interest(27750/-) not reflecting at all till today.So my reported income in IFOS in ITR is more than amount showing AIS/TIS.Will this cause problem for ITR to be Processed and to get refund?🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

20 July 2026 Reporting actual income that is missing from the AIS/TIS (such as Post Office interest) is the correct and compliant practice. It will not cause problems or delays in ITR processing or the issuance of a refund, as the tax department is primarily concerned with ensuring no income is hidden or under-reported.

23 July 2026 AIS/ TIS is based of the database updated by various agencies like NSDL/ banks, etc. So, many a times various department update their information late or do not update it. So, it is the responsibility of the assessee to ensure that he reports all his income.

Thus, it is not expected to be questioned if you report more than what appears in AIS.
