Dipen

A company sells goods to SEZ Unit. Law says sell to SEZ unit is export of the supplier under SEZ act, Excise act and in Custom act.

But will that would be MERCHANT EXPORT of supplier company or would it be Actual Export of supplier.

I am confuse between Merchant Export and Export.

Please provide me the legal definition, if any, of Merchant export and export.

Many thanks for investing your valuable time to my query.

ESI

A firm having more than 20 employees is getting a work done through a contractor(Job work) who has less than 20 employees. Hence contractor is not liable to ESI. In this case is the firm liable to ESI on the wages paid to job worker?(who has less than 20 employees)

Thank you,
Venu

A proprietary concern (small scale industry) in packaging industry want to import machine worth 1200,000 Euros.

70% of the project cost is financed by Swedish Bank with quarterly re-payment terms spread over 5 years from the installation of machinery by end 2010.
Necessary documentation to finance this project is submitted through Swedish EKN (Export Credit Council).

The repayments from proprietary concern are scheduled through their bankers "Punjab National Bank".

Now,Is there any restrictions / guidelines from RBI or under FEMA on such loans in terms of Loan Amount / re-payment period?
