Occupier and Factory Manager concept? I am aware of the definition of Occupier but what about Manager and his responsibilities of a Factory/ co in case of an accident

Dear Experts,

I have a doubt pertaining to salary Professional Tax. Professional tax is payable on basis of Head office location slab or branch which registered location slab.

I am working in Karnataka based company and we have a registered branch office in Tamilnadu. My doubt is for Tamilnadu employees either i want to deduct PT on Karnataka or Tamilnadu slab.

Which book i should refer 4 Costing ?

Our company is based at Hyderabad and we have branch at Mumbai. We on job work purposes regularly send cinematogrpahic camera equipment, film boxes, Hard disk drives to Mumbai and which can be returned to hyderabad once the job is completed. Do we require to pay octroi duty on each and every time. Is there any clause in the Octroi duty act to get exemption from paying if the goods movement is from head office to branch office. please also provide whethere there is any site which the Octroi act is available

We are NRI's residing in USA. My mother-in-law wishes to gift a flat in UP to my wife. What sort of wealth tax or other tax complications this may have/create on us.FYI, we have no other income in India nor have paid any taxes ever in India as we have been living here for many decades. Would appreciate one of your bright people answering this query.

Will there be any benefit if she gifts this flat to our minor children? She has no issues gifiting it to me, my wife or our kids.
