Need for taxes

Many times it is said that there are too many taxes in India. Today I saw that the same issue was raised by Baba Ramdev saying that all the taxes should be withdrawn and only one tax should be levied bank transaction tax. But i don't understand that whether taxes like income tax, excice, customs, VAT etc all are necessary or is it really practically possible that only one simple tax is enough. If there is so much uncertainty regarding tax laws then what is the future of Chartered Accountant in India. What if all the taxes are withdrawn, what CA is going to do as Tax service being a main source of income for CA?

Hello, I am a newly qualified ACA with Full Time COP. Can I perform attestation functions in my own name if I have not yet registered my firm and have also not received the COP in physical form? I have been notified by mail and my Membership status also says Full Time COP. Please reply. Your help will be appreciated.

And also, what about exam form or documents which are to be submitted with form 2, can a member attest those or only a member with Full Time COP?

Can ca do work from residence???

Dear Sir,
I had purchased residence flat with specifying in agreement for Residence Purpose. But i am using same premises for my CA Practise only and not for residence purpose. I had applied for transfer of flat in my name & paid transfer fees to the society. But, society is charging me extra maintenance for my practise as i am not residing. But i am paying normal maintenance only. So now society has not transfer flat in my name due to outstanding maintenance.
Kindly give me feedback that whether CA can liable to pay Maintenance as per commercial rate? & what can i do for Society has not transferred my flat?

Sale tax saving

Dear Sir,
We are a export company exporting paper product.
We buy our product from local manufacturers who are not reg.as EOU.How can we bypass sale tax and other taxes on raw metirial used for making our product so as to bring down the cost to compete in international market.We give H form to our suppliers.
Please advise.

Ca carrying on other business

Hi
I had a query relating to CA carrying on other businesses.
I know CA with COP cannot carry on other business without approval of the council.
My query is
1)Can a CA without COP carry on other business without seeking the approval of the Council?.
Ex- A CA is good in real estate dealing or say in hotel business, Can He give up COP and pursue his passion without restriction.

2)Further With COP can a CA invest his savings in other business as a partner of LLP ( not actively participating in the business).
Kindly let me know the implications

Partnership firm registration address

HI!
I want to know the complete address of the office where the partnership firm is being registered? Firm's office is at naraina and so the SDM office near Naraina is at Delhi cantt. Contact details provided on net is wrong. Also provide the list of documents to be attached for the registration of the firm.

Tds rpu 3.7

When i create file for 26 Q4 of F.Y. 2012-13 and subsequent two quarters of 26Q in RPU then error is coming: "Hidden Total Tax deducted can not be blank for record number 1 in Annexure I details"

Please help me for the error suolution

I have started my articleship wef 15th March 2013. What is the last date to complete my GMCS I? Will GMCS programm will be a paid leave? Can my principal mark me absent if I'm doing GMCS?
