Hi, my query is that if a pvt. ltd. company which is dealing with furnishing fabric and paints. Company for the stitching charges and paint application charges issue debit note to client. During the year its turnover of debit note issue exceeds 10Lakhs. Is company is liable for the service tax, if yes the under which service.

The service has for first been defined u/s 65B(44) of the Finance Act, 1994.Pl refer to it.
Apparently if appears that sticking and paint application charges would be service. If the taxable turnover exceeds RS 10 lacs, service tax liability is invoked.
With introduction of negative list from 1st July, 12 , there are no separate categories of service, and only one code has been prescribed for all services...
