plz tell me what is the difference between additional director and regular director(ie appointed in GM)

Director is a person appointed by Shareholders or appointed by board and regularised in shareholder meeting. Additional director is appointed by the board, not yet regularised by shareholder.
Whether independent or not depends upon in what capacity he was appointed and what is his relationship withthe existing ones.
