Dear Sir,
We have mentioned wrong section while making TDS payment online (eg. selected 96C instead of 94C)
Pl advise me how to correct it.

There is no specific way to correct the same. But you definately call to NSDL for the same. If they say it won't be correct then link the challan in TDS return for the deductee.
Currently e-returns process of NSDL is not so full proof.

Please make a written request to your assessing officer(TDS) to carryout the necessary correction.

I agree with Mr.Shyam i.e it can be corrected by writing a letter to AO.
