Vat or cst on sale of car by a partner

One of my partner had bought a car in his personal name and claimed depreciation on it. Now he has sold the car. So do i need to pay VAT/ CST on the Car sold??

For personal car selling, there is no VAT/CST. If the car is in the name of the firm which has got VAT RC in the state, then VAT is applicable.
