Go to above link fill ITNS 280 with PAN you want to verify. And just fill any thing in other details when you proceed the next page will display the name against PAN as per it database.

if you have some time, would you please can help in following query:
A person is running his own institute but facing loss due to excess expenses. can he set off that loss against his salary income and get rebate over the tds being deducted on his salary.
if yes, how could he claim the tds, which has been deducted from his salary.
