if we have received gold jewellery from my nana ji and nana ji death and we dont know when nana ji purchase this jewellery what will be the cost of acquisition for me at the time of sale by me

If you are not sure about date of purchase and cost of acquisition, considered it on or before FY- 1981-82(AY- 82-83), and considered FMV as on 01/04/81 and the cost of acquisition is same, which will be your cost of acquisition.
