18 June 2009 Is a gift deed compulsory? Because the RTA of a listed COmpany is not asking for that. Is it required from Income Tax point of view or any other purpose is there of gift deed? Also, if a gift deed is to be executed, is its registration compulsory?

It is necessary to prepare gift deed from the income tax point of view and also for any future complications.It is to be prepared on the stamp paper of Rs. 100/- There is no necessity to register the same.
