26 July 2016 Dear sir, I have one doubt I have done 10 months of articleship and took transfer and now registered nowhere so if in future after one or two years I apply for articleahip so that time is my 10 months of articleahip will be counted or not

02 August 2025 Hey! About your question on **transfer from articleship** and gap:

* The **10 months you already completed** will be counted **only if you continue your articleship without a long break**.
* If you remain **unregistered for 1 or 2 years**, the ICAI generally **does not count that gap** towards your articleship.
* When you **re-register after a long gap**, the previously completed period may or may not be counted depending on ICAI’s discretion and their rules at that time.
* Usually, continuous training is required, and a long break may lead to **resetting or losing credit for prior service** unless you apply for and get special permission.

**Best to check with ICAI directly** or your regional office to get confirmation based on your exact situation.
